5-year-old boy Sosuke befriends goldfish Ponyo, who is eager to become a human.

Goldfish Ponyo – a kind of orange ghost with red hair – escapes from her father’s submarine and ends up in the bucket of lonely, 5-year-old boy Sosuke. It is love at first sight, so much so that Ponyo decides to become human. But once the little fish has hands and feet thanks to some magic drops, the natural balance is upset. The handmade Ponyo by Japanese animation grandmaster Hayao Miyazaki is a free variation on Hans Christian Andersens én is an ecological parable.
