The overqualified and underqualified Rita works as a lawyer at a big firm that is more interested in releasing criminals than trying them. One day, she gets an unexpected out when cartel leader Manitas hires her to help him retire from his business and realise a plan he has been secretly preparing for years: become the woman he has always dreamed of being.

All the women received a Palm for Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival.
